It’s Summer on the Cape!

The Summer Solstice is extra special for us on Cape Cod, our spring is basically an extension of winter! So, Summer Solstice is the light at the end of the tunnel-it begins the countdown of our precious summer days.

There is a constant flow of summer guests at our home. Our house gets booked up quickly with friends and family. I always enjoy surprising my guests with luxurious yet practical products to make their stay more memorable.

Having the essentials like high quality beach towels, foldable beach chairs, comfy robes and PJ’s are important for Old Silver Shed visits.

I’ve partnered with Serena & Lily and picked some of the essentials that I love. I’m always impressed with Serena & Lily’s products – they fit in seamlessly with timeless New England style.

Robes are an important addition to the sleeping porch. I always have them hanging up ready to go so guests can enjoy the outdoor shower! I love the St. Helena Spa Robes because they are lined with lofty terry on the inside and a soft, textured waffle-weave outside- absolutely perfect! I’m particular about how things wash, and these wash beautifully and wear just as well.

I am a pajama person. I like to linger in my pj’s, with or without guests here. Linen PJ’s are a summer necessity for me. Linen’s unique ability to breathe and insulate makes it the perfect fabric for pj’s and the classic style of the Porto Linen Pajamas makes me feel polished, even first thing in the morning. (I wear size small, but got large for Philly.) They are just right to sip my morning cappuccino on the back deck.

I love the weight of the yarn-dyed linen and the classic design details; the mother of pearl buttons, the tailored collar with piping and the relaxed bottoms with pockets all add up to a casual relaxed statement! To me, there is nothing more inviting than a soft, wrinkly linen and these get better with each wash.

Yes, you can have breakfast at your kitchen table, or you can have breakfast with a view! I love sharing the natural beauty that surrounds our home and creating an experience for my guests. The Pallisades Outdoor Chairs in Driftwood finish are sturdy enough to handle any terrain. The woven resin is weather-friendly and the color is so beachy. These are perfect for mornings on the salt marsh and sunset on the bay!

Gathering in the Adirondack chairs while we wait for sunset is the true meaning of “Happy Hour”! Enjoying an evening cocktail while we wait for a spectacular show from Mother Nature!

I love my home, but I love sharing it with people I care about, my family and friends way more. I know this summer is going to be different, we may be wearing masks, sitting 6′ apart, but none-the-less we will be together.

Wishing you all beautiful summer, filled with people you love.
