Shade in the Summer…

I have spent years noodling over ideas to add shade on our back deck. I love those shade sails, but we have too much wind for that and I didn’t want something that would block our view of the salt marsh. Really, I wanted a big, beautiful, resort-like cantilever umbrella but that would take up too much room on the deck.

Last year we had to replace our staircase to the deck and that got me thinking. I drew up a plan to add a platform behind the deck. I had used a @caneline Hyde Luxe Hanging Parasol at a client’s home and it was so beautiful!! It started me planning and measuring!

It turned out PERFECT! We are so happy we added it, it’s gorgeous, practical and rated for high-wind! It’s changed our whole deck-experience! (I’m linking the umbrella in stories!)

Leave it to @arhaus to create a beautiful, well-curated event where no detail was overlooked! “Arhaus by the Sea” retreat in Nantucket was spectacular and our stay @thewhiteelephant_ was perfect!🤍
