Valentine’s Day – A Simple “Five Senses” Gift-Giving Guide

Summer So Far…

How is it August already?
Here’s a collection of random so-far-summer-moments.

Things I’m loving:

*Summer sunsets on the farmer’s porch.

*My @nililotan Shon jeans, they were expensive but I have worn them so much this summer!

*We moved our black leather club chairs into the library and
they are so comfortable!

*Chris and Nathalie’s sweet puppy Bunny and Sparrow are best buddies.

*A touch of purple in my front porch pots! @mahoneysgarden

*My @arhaus dining chairs made such a difference in our dining room!

*Morning summer sun in the family room✨

*The two old demi-johns I found at the Sandwich Flea.

*They way Sparrow sploots and breathes in the fresh sea air!🤭

*Pizza nights, even in summer!

*The sweet greeting I get from Sparrow when I come in, even if I literally just run out to the car to grab something.

*Clean Windows!! Never underestimate the power of them!

Shade in the Summer… I have spent years noodlin

Shade in the Summer…

I have spent years noodling over ideas to add shade on our back deck. I love those shade sails, but we have too much wind for that and I didn’t want something that would block our view of the salt marsh. Really, I wanted a big, beautiful, resort-like cantilever umbrella but that would take up too much room on the deck.

Last year we had to replace our staircase to the deck and that got me thinking. I drew up a plan to add a platform behind the deck. I had used a @caneline Hyde Luxe Hanging Parasol at a client’s home and it was so beautiful!! It started me planning and measuring!

It turned out PERFECT! We are so happy we added it, it’s gorgeous, practical and rated for high-wind! It’s changed our whole deck-experience! (I’m linking the umbrella in stories!)
